We've got the following exciting opportunity for paid employment!
Kairos Coffee - Assistant Manager
We are looking for an Assistant Manager for Kairos Coffee. Opening onto the Parkgate Shopping Centre, Kairos Coffee is a key part of Shirley Baptist Church's mission, providing a unique opportunity to demonstrate Christian love to our community. You will assist the Kairos Manager in the development of this outreach in the longer term.
Knowledge of food preparation and cooking, along with experience in planning and costing menus and an understanding of budgets and stock control are key skills which are desirable but on which training can be provided if needed. Exceptional organisation skills and a passion for excellent service are essential. You should be able to work with people from all walks of life, being sensitive to customers' needs. Previous experience in a similar enterprise would be advantageous though not essential.
The post is for 15 hours per week.

Shirley Baptist Church is self-funded, so apart from a few specific individuals, all the work is done by volunteers.
So, with so much going on, on Sundays and throughout the week, there are always opportunities to volunteer. There are all kinds of jobs ranging from washing up in the coffee shop to greeting people when they arrive for the Sunday morning service.
