We've got the the following exciting opportunity for paid employment!
Kairos Coffee - Saturday Catering Assistant/Barista
We are looking for a Saturday Catering Assistant/Barista for Kairos Coffee. Opening onto the Parkgate Shopping Centre, Kairos Coffee is a key part of the mission of Shirley Baptist Church and provides a unique opportunity to demonstrate Christian love to our community.
A passion for excellent service are essential and the ability to work with people from all walks of life, being sensitive to customers’ needs. You should be willing to learn all aspects of the coffee shop – training as a barista, learning how to prepare the food as well as end of day cleaning. You will assist the Manager/Assistant Manager as required. Previous experience in a similar enterprise would be clearly advantageous though not essential.
The post is for 5.5 hours per week.

Shirley Baptist Church is self-funded, so apart from a few specific individuals, all the work is done by volunteers.
So, with so much going on, on Sundays and throughout the week, there are always opportunities to volunteer. There are all kinds of jobs ranging from washing up in the coffee shop to greeting people when they arrive for the Sunday morning service.
