What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks. Each session looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome. It is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening setting.
At any point, if you think Alpha isn't for you, that's not a problem. There's no pressure, no follow up and no charge.
Alpha at SBC
The current set of Alpha sessions at SBC are running between the 27th of September and the 6th of December 2023.
We're meeting every Wednesday from 7.30-9:00 pm in Kairos Coffee, except 1st November (as its half term).
The sessions will start with us sharing some food (provided by SBC). Then we'll watch a thought-provoking Alpha episode discussing the week's question. Finally, there'll be space to share your thoughts (but only if you want to).
As well as the Wednesday sessions, we will also have an Alpha away day on Saturday 18th November, where we will focus on the Holy Spirit, and a Saturday meeting at SBC on 25th November.
