About Us

World Mission

We believe that a fundamental part of our church's life is to have effective links with specific projects in other parts of the world. Christianity is a global faith, and our own lives are greatly enriched through a lively involvement in World Mission. This is currently being worked out in a number of ways:

• We support the BMS World Mission which is the main agency through which Baptists from the UK are able to serve in other parts of the world. We have particular involvement in the work of a family in Ecuador and in the Action Team programme in which young people are able to spend a gap year with BMS.

• One of our members has set up a mission programme in the rural district of Vizianagaram in Andhara Pradesh, India details are on their website: www.mercymissionvzm.in
  
  
• Our young people visited Romania in July 2009 to spend time at Project Ruth on the edge of Bucharest, which provides education for those who would otherwise not attend a school.
  
  
• One of our young people, Dave Read, is currently spending a gap year with Youth For Christ, where he is able to use and develop his musical ability and worship leading skills.
