About Us

Beliefs and Vision

Our purpose statement is "Passion for God, Compassion for People" and this simple phrase gives a fundamental direction for the life of the church.

In addition, we have set out a clear vision statement for the next few years and are already working hard to make progress in all these areas of our work:

Responding to God's love in Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, in Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry and Mission.

We will aim to work this out over the next five years in the following ways:

• Grow in our love for God through worship together. We want to worship God in a way that is passionate, biblical, considerate, accessible and creative. We also see worship as a whole life activity and our desire is to make this a reality in our lives.
• Grow in love for one another, valuing all ages, seeking to include those in the crowd and wider community within our church fellowship. We aim to grow our pastoral team but also take seriously our collective responsibility to care for one another.
• Grow in whole life discipleship. We want to learn to apply the Bible to every area of our lives, following God in private and in public, in the church and in the world.
• Grow in our understanding and practice of every member ministry, encouraging an increasing number of people to develop and use their gifts and talents in compassionate service in the church and in the community.
• Engage in disciple making mission, reaching out to the community, enabling many people to discover the saving love of God.
• Cover everything that we seek to do in faithful, passionate, creative, listening and believing prayer.

We are also committed to:

• Increase our financial giving as a body of believers in response to the generosity of God.
• Complete a major redevelopment of our premises to better enable us to achieve all aspects of our vision, but especially our mission and ministry.
• Increase the number, quality and variety of our discipleship groups, seeing creative small groups as vital to the health and growth of the church.
• Provide a fun and safe environment in our childrens and young peoples work using a variety of coordinated activities, groups and services, where children and young people can meet with friends and progress in their journey with God.
• Research and discern who are the communities we are called to reach, love and serve. Develop and implement different ways we can do this effectively.
• Make a significant contribution, in specific ways, to mission locally, nationally and globally, as well as seeking to learn from the world church in different areas of our own church life.
